The first half of Wolfsbane switches the action back to Gondarlan, where changes are happening apace in Elinor's absence, and a host of dangers threaten King Thorund, his faithful Gentleman Loric, and Treasury Clerk Rupert Endriksson. In the second half the scene shifts again, from happy reunions in Angor to Elinor's long-awaited visit to Faal - where she at last meets the handsome prince of her dreams (although things don't pan out quite as she expects!). I'd been looking forward to writing that episode for years - another chance to make mischief with history as the Wars of the Roses meet pre-Revolutionary Versailles, with a little Dangerous Liaisons thrown in!

This is without doubt my favourite book of the trilogy: if Gondarlan sets the scene and Breath of Gaia develops it, Wolfsbane is the one where all the loose ends of plot are tied up and all motivations explained - with, I hope, plenty of laughs, shocks and surprises in store right up to the last page. Why does Sigismund Wolfsbane hate Grunewald so much? What secret is Eduard of Faal concealing? Will King Thorund get his heart's desire? And will Elinor get her man (and if so, which one?!). You'll find the answers to all these questions and more in the last few chapters!
